How to Get Over Shyness

Though most guys are usually associated with high self confidence and innate flirting skills, the fact is that there are a lot of guys who are almost the exact opposite of this. If you are one of those guys who have a hard time socializing and would like to get out of your shell so to say, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, you will learn how to get over your shyness and lead a normal fun-filled life starting from today itself:

1. Understand Your Shyness – The first and foremost step is to identify the reason for your shyness. Why is that you are unable to face strangers? What situation causes you to feel shy of others? Do you consider yourself inferior to the people you are talking to? Try to look deep within yourself and extract the answer out of you. Then move on to the next step.

2. Write Down Your Strengths & Accomplishments – No matter what we feel about ourselves, each one of us is blessed with unique abilities and talents. It’s important to know what your strengths lie in. Once you identify your true strength, talents & abilities, write them down somewhere along with a list of all the things you’ve accomplished in your life until now. Doing this will instill a new self-belief in you and your confidence will become sky-high, ultimately manifesting itself in the way you feel about yourself and how you conduct yourself while talking to people.

3. Identify Your Weakness – Once you are well aware of the talents you are bestowed with, the next step is to identify what you don’t like about yourself or the change you’d like to see in yourself. More often than not, shyness is a result of our weak self-image due to one or more factors. If you are extremely thin and are highly conscious about that, go to a gym and start working out rather than fretting about it all the time. Whatever it is that is causing a low self-image, start working on it right away. Each step in a positive direction is a thing to cheer about. Once you are motivated to work on your negative aspects, they will soon start disappearing away and you’ll feel all the more confident about yourself, which will eventually help you get rid of your shyness.

4. Work on your Social Skills – Just like I mentioned above, if your social skills are not up to the mark, start working on them. Now is the time to go out, meet new people and interact with them. Once you start talking to different people, your social skills will automatically become better and you’ll no longer find it difficult to mix up and make friends with a wide range of people.
